On March 13, 14, and 15, 2012, the Central San Joaquin Valley Risk Management Authority (CSJVRMA) will be presenting a public works forum on temporary traffic control and flagging for member cities. Lunch will be provided for all forum attendees.

This basic-level forum will cover many aspects of temporary traffic control and flagging including:

• Current law
• Hi-visibility apparel
• Flagger qualifications and responsibilities and liabilities
• Equipment recommendations
• Conflict management
• Positioning for safety
• Emergency escape plans
• Motorists' safety
• Flagging signals and traffic control
• Traffic signs and sign placement
• Diverting/channeling traffic and channeling devices such as barricades
• Taper length
• One-way traffic control
• Night flagging
• Emergency response flagging

This forum is targeted for public works employees who need to understand and implement temporary traffic control and flagging requirements. This training will provide participants with the knowledge needed to perform effective temporary traffic control and flagging.
